Draft Seventh Five Year Plan 1985-90 and Annual Plan 1985-86 Vol-I Tripura

Abstract

The princely State of Tripura acceded to the Indian Union in 1949. Following a spell each as a part 'C' state and a Union Territory, Tripura attained Statehood in 1972 . The State is divided into three revenue districts and the tribal areas of the State covering portions of all the districts have been constituted into the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. Fifth the recent amendment of the Constitution, an Autonomous District Council with Sixth Schedule status is exacted to come into being shortly.
