Abstract
The Plan allocation for the year 1957-58 is Rs. 2153.69 lakhs or 22.4 per cent of the total Second Five Year Plan provision. This is higher by 2.47 per cent than that of the first year of the Second Five Year Plan. the highest allocation during 1957-58 is made for Irrigation Sector where Rs. 580.28 lakhs or 26.94 per cent of the Plan provision for the year is allotted. This is followed by the Power Sector with an allotment of Rs. 476.70 lakhs or 22.13 per cent and then by Social Services Sector with an allotment of Rs. 403.39 lakhs or 18.73 per cent of the provision for the year. The allotment for the Agriculture and Community Development Sector is Rs. 387.82 lakhs or 18.01 per cent, for Roads Rs. 182.60 lakhs or 8.48 per cent, for Industries and Mining Rs. 102.87 lakhs or 4.78 per cent and for Miscellaneous Sector Rs. 20.01 lakhs or 0.93 per cent, of the allotment for the year.
