Abstract
This research study examines cargo handling problems in maritime operations with the objective of improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of ship loading and unloading processes. Using analytical and systems-based approaches, the study models the interactions among facilities, transport modes, commodities, and management controls. By distinguishing fixed and variable costs and applying mathematical and statistical techniques, the research offers foundational frameworks for optimizing cargo handling operations. The findings provide practical insights for reducing operational delays, improving coordination, and enhancing cost management in naval and commercial shipping sectors.
