Abstract

The chief sources of the Irrigation in the district are the Nagavalli, Vamsadhara and Bahuda Rivers. An Anicut has been built across the Nagavalli at Thotapalli in Parvathipuram Taluq from which Irrigation channels take off. The Nagavalli with its tributory, the Swarnamukhi irrigates large extents in Palakonda and Srikakulam Taluqs and some extent in Parvathipuram Taluk. The Vamsadhara irrigates large extent in Pathapatnam and Srikakulam Taluqs. The Bahuda irrigates considerable extent in Ichapuram Taluq.
