dc.description.abstractThe Ratnagiri District is a part of the Konkan strip running north to south on the Western coast of India, formed by a narrow belt of uneven lands lying between the Arabian sea on the west and the Sahyadri Hills on the east. the District is about 300 miles in length and has a maximum width of about 45 miles only. The Bankot creek on the north separates this district from the Kolaba district and the Terekhol creek in the South separates it from the Goa territory. the district is 5020.9 sq. miles or 32,12,800 acres.
