Abstract

Economic planning in the country for prosperity, was imperative after independence, but it had deeper and wider significance for the border State of Punjab whose economy had been shattered, firstly by partition and then by Indo-Pak war in 1965. the State received a various jolt from Indo-Pak -war and it was faced with rehabilitation problem in the border districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur. the launching of the Fourth Five Year Plan and formulation of Annual Flans have got greater significance in the State.
