dc.description.abstractThe Annual Plan proposals of the State Government for 1980-81 submitted to the Planning Commission in December 1979 envisaged an outlay of Rs. 265.40 crores. On the basis of the discussions the State Government Officials had with the Planning Commission and taking into account the resource position of the State, an outlay of Rs. 245.82 crores was budgeted for the State Plan 1980-81. In addition to this, certain new proposals of a developmental nature requiring an additional outlay of Rs. 10 crores were announced by the Finance Minister in his Budget Speech. The Annual Plan proposals were subjected to further discussion al the meeting held by the Deputy Chait man, Planning Commission with the Chief Minister. the Deputy Chairman indicated that a revision of die Annual Plan for 1980-81 would be necessary in view of Government of India's decision to formulate the new five Year Plan starling from 1980-81 and the revised priorities decided upon by the Planning Commission like Rural Employment Programmes, Economic Programmes for the improvement of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, provision of drinking water facilities, improvement of rural roads, development of oil seeds, etc.
