Abstract

The Western Jamuna Canal Remodeling project envisages extension of irrigation facilities to 6.45 lakhs acres of arid areas in Districts of Ambala, Karnal, Rohtak, Jind, Bhiwani, Sonepat and Hissar and in addition improvement of water allowance on 10.51 lakh acres of existing area on the W.J . C. system. the original cost of the project estimate, estimated as Rs.757.28 lakhs has been revised to 1249.15 lakhs on account of increase in the cost of material and machinery.
