Draft Annual Plan 1989-90

Abstract

The year 1989-90 represents the terminal year of the Seventh Five Year Plan and the effort during the period will have to primarily concentrate upon achieving the physical targets that had been laid down for the various sectors. Airing the mid term appraisal that the State had undertaken of the Seventh Plan it had been noticed that in several sectors, the pace of expenditure in the first three years was such as to leave only a very small percentage of the overall outlays for the last two years. With the implementation of the 1988-89 plan, with an outlay of Rs. 63 crores, the State would have more or less exhausted the total outlay for the Seventh Five Year Plan as such, which was fixed at Rs. 230 crores.
