Abstract

The Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes constitutes the weaker sections of the Community in Manipur and need to be specially assisted for speedy educational, social and economic development The General Sectors continue to- deal with the respective programme for welfare of the entire population, including the Backward Classes. The programmes under the Welfare of Backward Classes Sector are special program of the Government to promote quickly the social, educational and economic standard of the Backward Classes by taking up supplemental schemes.
