The Geo-physical condition of both the districts are such that the terrain is very much difficult and full of hills and dales. Large number of streams and rivulets criss-cross the area. The districts are inhabited by mostly tribal people having their distinct: traditional pattern of life, mode of cultivation and cottage industries. Though the two districts has dense forests comprising of bamboos and other precious species of timbers, seckless and uncontrolled denundation on account of traditional mode of “Jhum" cultivation, the environmental and ecological balance has been disturbed seriously avasing many side effects and posing problems which it not controlled and tackled right now, the situation may turn out to be unredeemable.
