dc.description.abstractEconomic and welfare planning in Assam, as in other parts of the country, had small beginnings in about 1945 when, the then Government of India, directed State Governments to draw up plans which were expected to be financed from the surplus resources available to the country as a result of savings and prosperity generated during the period of the World War II.
