As at Present, the gross demand for energy in the State exceeds availability, and except for 2-3 monsoon months, energy cuts are enforced on HT Industrial consumers during the remaining months. This situation is likely'to continue till June 1984. Till then, the extent of energy cuts on HT Industry would depend on the quantum of import assistance that may become available from Kerala, Andhra and Maharashtra. However from 1985-86, a period of surplus energy would start in the State and this situation may continue till 1990 and beyond depending on the pattern of industrial growth and type of new industries that may be located in the State.
