Abstract

The Draft Annual Plan of the Government of Goa for 1990-91 presents a detailed framework for agricultural and allied sector development under the broader objectives of the Eighth Five-Year Plan (1990-95). The plan prioritizes crop husbandry, with a focus on the production, multiplication, and distribution of high-yielding variety (HYV) seeds of paddy, ragi, maize, and pulses, alongside the establishment and management of farms to supply improved seeds to cultivators. Soil and water conservation measures are integrated through the development of selected micro-watersheds, encouraging dryland farming and enhancing productivity of pulses and oilseeds.
