Draft Annual Plan 1988-89 Government of Gujarat

Abstract

The Seventh Plan outlay for the State is Rs. 6,000 crores. The Plan outlays for 1985-86 and 1986-87 were Rs. 804 crores and Rs. 950 crores respectively. Actual expenditure against these outlays is Rs. 855 crores and Rs. 966 crores respectively. The current year’s (1987-88) Plan outlay is Rs. 1160 crores. This is likely to be fully utilised. ‘During these years due to inadequate rainfall the State has been facing severe drought conditions which has adversely affected the agricultural production targets. However the targets set for infrastructural development- and beneficiary oriented programme are likely to be fully achieved. The progress of Plan implementation during the three years has been quit satisfactory considering the level of expenditure incurred against the outlays and the achievements against the targets set for the Annual Plans
