Third Five Year Plan Report of the Meeting of the Panel on Health

Abstract

Programmes of health and family planning included in the Five Year Plans are drawn up in the Planning Commission in consultation with the Ministry of Health. At the stage of consideration i.e., before they are finalised for incorporation in the Five Year Plans, they are also placed before the Health Panel, a body of experts in various branches of Medical Science and Public Health. Health Panels were constituted for the First and the Second Plans and on the same lines, a Panel was constituted to consider the Health Programmes for the Third Plan.
