Abstract

On 19 December 2011, Goa celebrated fifty years of liberation from Portuguese rule. The State has come a long way since its liberation from the Portuguese rule. The State was ranked the best state by the Eleventh Finance Commission for its infrastructure. The India Human Development Report 2011 ranked Goa as fourth in terms of overall human development in the country whereas CRISIL has declared Goa as the second fastest growing State in the country.
