Report on Upgradation of Technology in Agricultural Pumpsets

Abstract

The Indian Pump Industry has made a remarkable progress since the early twenties, when the pumps were first manufactured in the country. Judged from its record of growth both in terms of production and sophistication in the range of manufacturers, it has few parallels. Over the years, the production base for pumps has been broadened as also the capacity to undertake manufacture of sophisticated pumps to indigenous designs has been built up. As a result, the industry today meets almost the entire domestic requirements of various types of pumps.
