Mid-Term Appraisal for 9th Five Year Plan 1997-2002 Union Territory of Chandigarh

Abstract

Chandigarh is a small Union Territory without legislature, and is spread over an area of 114 sq.k.m. comprising the city of Chandigarh and 18 villages. Chandigarh is Union Territory without legislature and as such its funding is a part of Union Budget. Inspite of being Union Territory without legislature. Chandigarh is not putting any extra burden on Union Govt’s Budget as the net deficit of this Union Territory Budget is very marginal.
