dc.description.abstractBefore the merger of the Ministry of States with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the latter was concerned mainly with two broad groups of subjects, the first group relating to the Public Services and the second to Public Security. the functions of the Ministry of States were generally speaking to deal with questions relating to the Part B States of Hyderabad, Mysore. Jammu and Kashmir, Travancore-Cochin, Rajasthan, Madhya Bharat, Saurashtra and the Patiala and East Punjab States Union and the Part C States of Bhopal, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, Kutch, Manipur, Tripura and Vindhya Pradesh.
