Annual Plan 2011-2012 Part-3 Maharashtra State

Abstract

I have great pleasure in presenting the Annual Plan for the year 2011- The Plan aims at the overall development of Maharashtra. The size of the annual plan 2011-12 has been fixed at Rs.41500 crores. The Plan focuses strongly on agriculture and related issues. Not only area under flow irrigation is expected to increase but also irrigation facilities will be provided to dry land farmers through farm ponds and wells. Mahavitaran will provide connection for agriculture pump-sets on demand. The plan envisages large employment generation through promotion of the textile industry. Adequate provision has been made for supplementary nutrition under ICDS.
