Abstract
The overall income generation in the State economy revolves round the income accruing from agriculture and allied activities and therefore, the declining trend in the Net State Domestic Product during the Sixth Plan period may be attributed mainly to a sharp fall in income from agriculture and allied activities. The substantial decrease was due to the failure of monsoons in 1980-81 and unprecedented and severe drought conditions the State had experienced in 1982-83.
