dc.description.abstractThe Planning Commission continued to play a central role in the formulation of the country's development strategies. During the year, the progress of the Plan was reviewed. Annual Plan 1988-89 formulated and studies organised to help develop appropriate strategies for future growth. Timely steps were also initiated to deal with exigencies like the unprecedented drought/flood faced by the country in 1987.
