Quick Evaluation Study on Fourteen (14) Major Development Programmes in Hazaribagh District of Jharkhand State Affected By Left Wing Extremism (LWE)

Abstract

A Task Force on Left Wing Extremism (LWE) was constituted under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary on 12th February, 2008 to promote coordinated efforts across a range of development and security activities to tackle the naxal problems in a comprehensive manner. As per the mandate Planning Commission has provided inputs to expedite finalization of integrated action plans for LWE affected districts. The task force on LWE has entrusted Programme Evaluation Organisation (PEO) of Planning Commission to conduct a quick evaluation study on the impact of the development programmes implemented in 33 LWE districts of the country.
