Abstract

The entire developmental effort in Arunachal Pradesh is focused on raising the standard of living of the largely tribal and backward population, and ensuring that they are pulled up by their boot-straps from their present level or subsistence, far below the poverty line. the population is backward when viewed in terms of any and every index of development geographical, social or economic, the pace of development in the territory has accelerated only after the Chinese aggression in 1962. Our plan outlays over the years have reflected this expansion, in that, during the Five year Plan, Arunachal Pradesh was allocated, only crores.
