Approach To Fifth Five-Year Plan of Meghalaya

Abstract

The State Government agree in principle to the objectives for the Fifth Plan set forth in the Planning Commission’s Paper "Towards an Approach to the Fifth Plan". Increase in rate of economic growth and reduction in disparity of income:—The Plan should aim at acceleration of the rate of economic growth and simultaneous reduction in disparity of incomes and spreading of the benefits of the plan schemes to the under-privileged and backward sections of population. the twin objective of growth and the removal of poverty should be achieved in a manner which should also ensure a desirable rate of growth of economy.
