Second Five-Year Plan Visakhapatnam District Review of Progress 1956-61.

Abstract

In physical terms, the following are in brief the main achievements during the second Plan period in the District, Agricultural production was sought to be increased by numerous intensive and extensive measures. 23,029 bags of improved seeds and 30,496 tons of fertilizers were distributed through the Agricultural Department in the District, during the Second Plan period. Each delimited Block is having a seed store to cope up with the increased demand with the extensive propaganda in the villages about the use of improved seed in place of ordinary ones to achieve higher yields.
