dc.description.abstractAlthough U.P. is essentially an agricultural State, yet to lay down a basis for sound economic development it is necessary to develop basic and heavy industries, for it is I these which feed the consumer’s goods industries, increase the employment Potential manifold, make the country self sufficient in producer’s goods and above all lay the basis for a sound economic development for the future. With this end in view it is proposed to undertake the following schemes for development of heavy industries under the Second Five Year Plan.
