dc.description.abstractThe Y2K (year 2000) problem, or the millennium bug, as it is also sometimes called, has been engaging the attention of governments all over the world for the past few years. The problem has also received attention from the Government of India since 1997, when a number of steps were initiated at various levels to prepare for the transition to the year 2000. These efforts were initiated by the Department of Electronics and coordinated through the Committee of Secretaries.
