dc.description.abstractAgriculture is the largest single industry of Haryana. Nearly 50 per cent of the State's income is contributed by it. It supports about 82 per cent of its population living in villages. As much as 83 per cent i.e. 91 lakh acres out of the total area of about 110 lakh acres of the state, is in agricultural use. The major foodgrain crops grown area bajra, paddy and maize, during Draft and wheat, gram and barley in rabi. Sugarcane, and cotton, are the important cash crops.
