Proposals for Second Five Year Plan Government of Madhya Bharat Central Economic and Statistical Organization

Abstract

Immediately after the formation of Madhya Bharat the Department of Economic and Statistical Intelligence was created in 1949 with a small nucleus of staff for collecting and publication of basic data received from, other departments of the State Government. Indeed this was a beginning at a systematic collection of quantitative information, but could hardly be expected to suffice for the expanding role the Statistical information was to play and assigned with the tremendous expansion of the government activities.
