dc.description.abstractAssam is situated in the extreme North Eastern Corner of the country and forms the core of the North Eastern Region comprising Arunachal Pradesh Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. It has common borders with all the other six units of the Region and also with West Bengal besides international borders with Bangladesh and Bhutan. The Region is connected the the rest of India by a slender corridor through North Bengal.
