dc.description.abstractPlanning in the Union Territory of Delhi has to keep in view the predominantly urban character of this Territory, the phenomenal rate of growth of Delhi’s population which is unparalleled in any city of the country, the special needs of Delhi as the National Capital, the back-log of development in this Territory and the fact ‘that Delhi's balanced and planned growth is essentially linked with the development of the Ring towns of Delhi and the National Capital Region.
