dc.description.abstractReconstitution of the Planning Commission On 17th July, 1967. a statement was made by the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha regarding Government’s decision on the Administrative Reforms Commission’s recommendations relating to the Planning Commission. The full text of the Statement is given in Annexure. I. The statement indicates that Government agreed to the Administrative Reforms Commission’s recommendations that the Planning Commission should not be burdened with any executive functions but should confine itself mainly to formulation of Plans, and evaluating plan performance. In persuance of this decision the functions assigned to the Planning Commission in Government of India Resolution setting up the Commission in March, 1950 have been reiterated.
