dc.description.abstractRemoval of poverty and attainment of economic self-reliance are the two strategic goals that the country has set for itself. Our Plans derive their basic inspiration from these objectives. The development perspective covering the period 1974-75 to 1985-86 sketched out here, has been conceived in that light. It seeks to delineate the structural changes that would be involved in the progress of the economy towards the cherished national goals over the decade or so extending to the mid Eighties.
