Report of the District Planning Evaluation Committee on District/Block Level Planning in Maharashtra

Abstract

The District Planning Evaluation Committee (DPEC) report and associated documents provide a comprehensive assessment of district and block-level planning in Maharashtra, highlighting both achievements and challenges in decentralized governance since 1974. The evaluation underscores the critical need for district-focused planning to reduce regional disparities, enhance local participation, and ensure equitable resource allocation, particularly in underdeveloped areas like Vidarbha and Marathwada.
