Abstract

Today, the stress is on sustainable development with participatory approach. Institutionalisation of the Panchayati Raj is a big leap forward in this direction. But there can be no sustainable development without education makes man realize his inner self, the need to live in harmony with his environment and society. It encourages him to be self-reliant and develop himself into a productive citizen and thereby contribute towards the socioeconomic development of the society, State and the Nation at large.
