Abstract
The State has one doctor for every 6674 persons as against the all India, average of one doctor per 4300 population and prescribed norm of one doctor for 3000/3500 population. the present Bed/population ratio in the State in one be for every 350 persons in urban areas and one bed for every 10500 population in the rural areas against the prescribed norm of one bed for every 1000 persons.
Each of the State has got 3.4 hospital/dispensary while each hospital/ dispensary is catering to the need of 3.6 villages of the State.
