Abstract
The State of Jammu and Kashmir is the northern most State of the country. It is bounded in the north-east by China, in the north-west by Afghanistan and in the west by Pakistan. the southern boundary is contiguous with the States of Punjab and Himachal-Pradesh. In view of its location, it has a vital strategic importance.
