Abstract

Many traditional Horticultural crops in the Border Areas like citrus fruits and Arnaut have for sometime now been affected by disease and dying in large number, efforts to control the disease have not proved successful so far. Cultivation of alternative cash crops like rubber etc., teems editable to be encouraged, for this purpose during the Eighth Plan Period an amount of Rs. 18.71 lakhs was spent up to 1995-1996 and during the annual plan 1996-1997 an amount of Rs, 10.00 lakhs was provided under this, scheme.
