Abstract

Economically the region is most backward and undeveloped. It remained for centuries hopelessly neglected. The standard of living is extremely low. Primitive conditions prevail in respect of various pursuits of life. The results of scientific research and Technical education have vet not travelled far enough into the interior. The region is however, rich in mineral resources which await exploitation. The economy is undiversified and predominantly agricultural. It consequently needs to be stepped up and placed on a balanced plane by providing sources of additional income through industrial enterprise.
