Abstract

The demand for Heavy Electrical Equipment is directly related to the Power Development Programme which in turn is based on the pattern of Industrial growth and the electrification schemes envisaged in each region. An appreciation of these, the likely pattern of Power Distribution, nature of electric drives, etc. provide an idea of the quantum and type of the equipment required.
