Abstract

The rapidly growing population and low agricultural production in the country continue to compel un-avoidably and definite imports of foodgrains. Concerted efforts in the recent past on both fronts have shown new horizon of hope and the agricultural production is expected to increase significantly in the Fourth Five Year Plan period. the amount of success in achieving the targets of agricultural production will largely depend upon the efforts to plan various agricultural programmes and to implement them for bringing about the desired results in the shortest possible time.
