Abstract

The Haryana Agricultural University has been striving hard since its establishment in 1970 for the attainment of high standard in the field of agricultural education, research and extension. the University has achieved great heights in its contribution towards development of agricultural economy of Haryana State. Haryana State was deficit in foodgrain production at the time of its formation in 1966, but now with the application of package of technology developed by the University, the State has transformed its agriculture from a subsistence type into a surplus, commercial farming system. Haryana State, next only to Punjab, is the second biggest contributor to national food reserve.
