Report of the Working Group on Small Scale Industries for the VIIth Five Year Plan 1985-90 Volume-I

Abstract

It has been further enumerated that the small industries sector constitutes an important segment of the National Economy in terms of employment, out—put and exports. The policies and programmes for this sector should emphasise rationalisation of the fiscal and taxation regime, provision of appropriate infrastructure, the Introduction of modern management techniques, upgradation of skills of artisans and propagation of appropriate technology and the adoption of a coherent marketing strategy both for internal and export marketing.
