Draft Integrated Annual Plan for Darjeeling Hill Areas 1985-86 Government of West Bengal

Abstract

The hill areas of Darjeeling district comprising of three hill sub-divisions of Nursery Kalimpong Darjeeling Sadar covers of 2417.25 sq.km. which accounts for 74.24% of the total area of the district and 2.72% that of the State of West Bengal. The population of the hill areas of Darjeeling is 5,07,155 according to the final publication of the 1981 Census report and accounts for 52.4% of the population of the district and roughly of the total population of West Bengal.
