Abstract
Air, Land and water constitute the three basic components of man’s natural and physical environment. These have nursed and nourished his development and growth. However, health problems could also arise because of alterations in environment. Unfavourable alterations in environment due to rapidly growing population, urbanisation changing agricultural, industrial, water resources management and other “developmental activities" have become widespread during the last few decades. Major focus during the last decade has been on the perceptible deterioration in quality of environment during the second half of the current century and its effect on human health.
