Social deviance, as a form of human behaviour that fails to conform to the accepted social norms, has its genesis in the intricate relationship between the individual and the environment with which he constantly interacts. As both these variables are dynamic in nature, the interaction between the two which results in social deviance defies any fool proof theory. Despite this position, it is widely recognized that apart from personality aberrations that make individuals vulnerable to it, social deviance is largely an offshoot of the disorganisation process of society itself. It is, therefore, imperative that the problems of social deviance are tackled in the entirety of life situations that the individuals involved are subjected to.
