Report of the Working Group on Mineral Exploration and Development for the Tenth Five Year Plan Survey and Mineral Exploration Vol-II

Abstract

India is a large country, with complex geology. As a result it has a varied mineral endowment, covering different mineral types. Since Minerals are non-renewable assets, identification and development of mineral resources should be the corner-stone for assured industrial growth of a nation. Recognising the need for a faster pace of industrialisation, India had zealously pursued mineral development as an integrated action commencing with geological appraisal of indigenous mineral resources and extending up to establishing giant exploiting agencies for mining and marketing of minerals.
