Report of Expert Committee on Integration of Commodity Spot and Derivatives Markets

Abstract

In the first meeting held on August 02, 2017, the members of the expert committee suggested that two separate groups may be created comprising different members of the committee i.e., one group to look into issues relating to the agricultural commodities and the other group to focus on issues relating to the non-agricultural (metals, bullion and energy) commodities. The committee felt that the issues and challenges concerning agricultural commodities and non-agricultural commodities being different, they need to be separately examined for better appreciation of these commodities which would help the committee to understand the respective markets with better clarity.
